Turkey Day at the McGourty's!!

For Thanksgiving this year, Daniel and I stayed in Norfolk and enjoyed our first Turkey Day in our new home. We opened our door and invited anyone who was around to come over a celebrate with us and had a great turn out. We ended up with a handful of guys that are in the ROTC program with Daniel, our good friend Michele who's husband is deployed to Kuwait and our buddy Freddy who is our favorite Waiter from Mi Hogar. It was a great time had by all!

My mom and sister (along with my awesome niece and nephew), came for a visit back in August! I know these are very outdated- but they are good!! We had a blast when they were here and I wish everyday that they were closer... I miss you guys!

Virginia here we come!!!

So the last 3 months have been very exciting for the McGourtys!!! As most of you know, Daniel started NSI up in Rhode Island in February, but luckily was able to stop in Florida (where I have been) on his way from Guam to RI! We were able to enjoy some quality time as a family and he enjoyed being an Unkie Daniel Duck which he has officially been dubbed by Maddie our niece because of his near perfect impression of Donald Duck, which she just LOVES!!! Now, he is no longer Unkie Daniel, he is always referred to as, Unkie Daniel Duck!!!

Once Daniel left I began house hunting up in Norfolk where we received official orders (Old Dominion University- Hampton Roads ROTC). During the last weekend of February I took a trip up to Norfolk and in 3 days searched, found and bought a house!!! As many can imagine, March flew by and before I knew it the 3 dogs and I were loaded up in the Camry and headed North on I-95 and Florida was in the rear view mirror!! Now I am sitting in my empty, but wonderful, quaint, and perfect 3 bedroom 2 bath house waiting on the military to decide when they want to deliver my household goods!!! I know all you military folks know how that goes.

So, for those in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area, the McGourtys have arrived... well, at least I have with the dogs- the furniture should make it in the next few days and Daniel will be here by April 19^th (he graduates NSI on April 18^th). Enjoy the pictures below, there are a lot of them and they are from the last couple of months!!!

I have already started doing little projects around the house- so I will continue to post before and after pictures! We did buy in Norfolk- in Colonial Place, it is a great neighborhood and I love my neighbors already!!! Once I get furniture visitors are highly recommended!!!

Xmas, New Year's and everything in between!!

Well, well, well!!! Things have been hectic since the beginning of December and I can hardly believe it is already the middle of January! As many of you know, I returned to JAX with our three pups in the middle of December and am currently calling this home while Daniel wraps things up in Guam. We were fortune enough though to fly Daniel home for the holidays and we had a blast hanging out with the ENTIRE family!!! After Christmas we spent a few days up in Philadelphia for Grandma's 80th Surprise Birthday Party! Then we were back in JAX for New Year's Eve!!!

For now, Daniel is back in Guam and I am playing nanny for my sister and her two wonderful children!! We are still waiting on our orders to Norfolk (Daniel's official orders to Old Dominion University for school), but we should hear something any day now. When I am not playing nanny, I am busy house hunting and job searching in Norfolk! If anyone has advice I am all ears!!!!
